Anamorphic Projector Lenses
Anamorphic lenses were designed to maximize the imagery within a 35mm film format, stretching the top and bottom of the frame to fit the entire screen viewing area. They were originally used to heighten resolution and reduce grain appearance.
Anamorphic projector lenses allow for the conversion of image aspect ratios without degrading the quality of the image. Where traditional methods would require expensive image processors, projection systems utilizing anamorphic lenses give you cinema quality images without letterboxing or having the images appear stretched horizontally or vertically.
